Gauge R&R Study for Unrepeatable Measurement

Course Objectives

Basic Statistical concept, procedure, planning and method of conducting Gauge R&R study, especially the ANOVA method is more thoroughly about the variance components with a crossed design for repeatable measurement and nested design for unrepeatable measurement such as a destructive test.

  • Understand basic statistics and determine the variance components in gauge repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies.
  • Perform analysis of variance (ANOVA) for giving variable data for a GR&R study.
  • Understand crossed and nested design of ANOVA that apply in GR&R study.
  • Make a better judgement on the variance components in a measurement system.
  • Reduce producer and consumer risks in quality control.
  • Improve confidence when make a measurement.
  • Create a format by using Microsoft Excel for ANOVA method of GR&R study.
  • Use the command function in Microsoft Excel to calculate the statistics.
  • Organize the format (just upload the data and the criteria of GR&R study are automatically calculated) to perform a GR&R study by using Microsoft Excel.
  • Handle the situation during auditing that related to the measurement system.
