Course Objectives

  • Provide fundamental and theoretical aspect of internal combustion engines (ICE) including gas turbines in relation to practical systems.
  • Enhance awareness towards requirement of FMA 139 (1967) and regulations, as well as other related standards for safety and healthy working environment particularly to ICE
  • Expose to technical information, recent trend and development in ICE and their associated equipment for industrial applications.
  • Upgrade knowledge and skill in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of ICE including gas turbines.
  • Preparation for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Engineers (Grade 1 and Grade 2) Competency Examination as conducted by the Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaan (JKKP/DOSH), Malaysia.

Target Audience

  • Personnel who are in the process of applying for Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Engineers Competency Certificate (Grade 1 & Grade 2).
  • Professionals, management and technical staffs who are interested to review, enhance or broaden their understanding and skill in handling, operating and maintaining of ICE and gas turbine station.

Methodology

Seminar, dialogue Q & A sessions. Consultation, practical inspection and demonstration sessions on equipment at client’s premises can be arranged for in-house programme only.

Assoc. Prof. Yahaya Bin Ramli holds a Masters degree in Fluid Power Systems from the University of Bath, UK, an Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from ITM, Shah Alam, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, from UTM, Kuala Lumpur. He is also a Registered Subcontract Technical Assessor with Jabatan Standard Malaysia (DSM), a Certified and Qualified ISO / IEC 17025 Technical Assessor, and a Certified and Qualified Auditor / Lead Auditor, ISO9001:2000.
