Emergency Response Preparedness & Planning

Course Objectives

In the event of a fire individual may panic or over-react. As such, early actions should be taken to address the emergency. These actions shall be undertaken by a trained Emergency Response Team (ERT). The ERT is the first responder to the emergency while waiting for external emergency service providers like Bomba. The management shall ensure the ERT is on alert at all times and prepared to take actions for all types of emergencies.

  • Understand the requirements for emergency preparedness and response planning in terms of human resources and essential facilities and emergency equipment;
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency Response Team;
  • Use the different types of emergency equipment as provided by management;
  • Understand the importance of emergency information; and
  • Carry out emergency procedures as documented in the Emergency Response Plan during an Emergency Drill to improve the effectiveness of the plan and readiness of the human resources.

Methodology

The Course content will be delivered through lectures, group discussions and roles play during an Emergency Drill to be arranged at the workplace. Certification in training will be awarded to the participants upon full attendance and assessment results of competency.

  • Module 8 : PRACTICALS FOR EMERGENCY DRILL (To be arranged when possible)
