Course Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants should be able to develop their knowledge, skill and values and able to achieve the following learning objectives:

• Understand the basic principle of accident prevention
• Interpret the legislation requirement and its liabilities under OSHA 1994
• Conduct hazard identification, determine risk rating based on the severity and likelihood of hazards and recommend risk control measures
• Recognized occupational hazards and manage occupational issues at the workplace
• Describe various physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological and psycho-social hazards commonly encountered on the job and understand basic method of controlling various harmful health hazards and stress
• Discuss & Explore the causes of unsafe acts & unsafe condition in the workplace & determine what we can do to prevent these events from occurring
• Provide you with basic understanding of Behavioral Safety Theory
• Prevent accident and injury through safe work practices
• Provide participants with the information they need to prepare for emergencies in the workplace
• Value the ability to continually learn and the ability to apply what has been learned

Methodology

It is a highly interactive program where speakers can share their knowledge and experience about the topic and problem areas the participants need to know. It consists of lectures, practical exercise in case study and syndicate presentation in case study.
