Course Objectives

At the end of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Apply four key leadership styles in the workplace to maximize influence.
  • Manage the varying levels of team member development and readiness effectively.
  • Connect adaptable leadership principles to the three managerial essentials (planning, organizing, and controlling).

  • Understand leaders’ relationship-oriented behaviors (supportive actions) in the workplace
  • Understand leaders’ task-oriented behaviors (directive actions) in the workplace
  • Key Factor 2: Team Member Readiness or Development Level
  • Recognize and understand team members with low development/readiness levels in the workplace
  • Recognize and understand team members with moderate development/readiness levels in the workplace
  • Recognize and understand team members with high development/readiness levels in the workplace

Module 3 : Determine the FOUR (4) Key Leadership Styles in the Workplace and How to Apply Them Effectively

  • Leadership Style 1: DIRECTING
  • What should a leader do to provide specific instructions?
  • What should a leader do to closely monitor performance?
  • Leadership Style 2: COACHING
  • What should a leader do to explain decisions?
  • What should a leader do to offer opportunities for clarification and input?
  • Leadership Style 3: SUPPORTING
  • What should a leader do to share ideas and suggestions?
  • What should a leader do to facilitate team decision-making?
  • Leadership Style 4: DELEGATING
  • What should a leader do to assign responsibility for decisions and implementation?

Module 4 : Assess the FOUR (4) Levels of Team Member Development and How to Lead Them Effectively

  • Development Level 1: Low Competence, Low Confidence or Commitment

He also attained a Diploma in Hotel Catering and Management from the American Hotel and Motel Association.
