Ergonomics and Manual Handling

Course Objectives

• Understand the fundamentals of occupational safety & health
• Describe various ergonomic problems and be alert for symptoms among workers
• Prevent and minimize personal injuries arising from lack of knowledge with regards to proper ergonomic.
• Understand the principles and the goals of ergonomics and how physiology anthropometry, anatomy, biomechanics and psychology are used to solve work-stress problems
• Understand various risk factors involved in manual handling works
• Understand the connection between the environments, method of work affecting ergonomics
• Understand work related Musculoskeletal Disorders that cause injury to the workers,
• Improve productivity and quality by reducing workplace stressors which can reduce the risk of injuries and illness and increasing efficiency

Target Audience

This program is suitable for employees with a sedentary lifestyle and who do repetitive office / manual work

Methodology

Essentially participative and practical, emphasizing learning through experience, both from structured activities on the program eg. group work, video screening, case studies and discussion from individual experience.
