Course Objectives

This is a customized & unique Workshop specially tailored to provide the audience with the knowledge & skills required in the management, handling, storage and disposal of Chemicals/ chemical wastes, including the Regulatory compliance requirements under the OSHA, CIMAH, CPL & USECHH Regulations enforced by DOSH.
Also covered is the new emerging requirements of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals or GHS which is an internationally agreed upon system set to replace the various different classification and labeling standards used in different countries.
The GHS will use consistent criteria for classification and labeling on a global level. Its development began at the United Nations Rio Conference in 1992 and will be adopted by DOSH for all companies in Malaysia soon.
The second half of this Workshop provide us a detailed insight in helping your company to establish an effective Chemical Safety Management, chemical Waste handling and disposal in your company.
Familiarize you on how to handle various Chemical cum Hazardous materials emergency incidents, including notification of Regulatory agencies.
Also included in this Workshop are the Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs which are related to your Chemical safety compliance efforts, useful Tips on how to implement your CHRA and HIRAC programs.

Module 3: USECHH Regulatory requirements
– Familiarize yourself with the Malaysian USECHH Regulatory requirements
– Communicate to your company Senior Management on the Legal requirements of the USECHH requirements & their responsibilities as Employers
– Ensure your company conduct Chemical sampling/ Industrial Hygiene monitoring at Chemical
– use workplaces
– Find out how to send your employees exposed to listed in the Regulation undergo medical surveillance under DOSH-approved Occupational Health Doctors
Module 4 : Safe Handling & Storage of Chemicals

The Trainer graduated with Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Housing, Building & Planning from Universiti Sains Malaysia and holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Portsmouth UK. He is currently pursuing his PhD on Behavioral-Based Safety at Univesiti Sains Malaysia.
