Trainer Bharati Suresh Chand graduated from USM with a degree in Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) with Minor in Management. Trainer Bharati has been a consultant pharmacist for the last 20 years. She was the Manager cum Pharmacist at Bayan Bay pharmacy. With her business and leadership skills, she succeeded in establishing her name as a competent community pharmacist and a successful entrepreneur. Her skills and services rendered to her customers earned her to be awarded the Best Community Pharmacist of year 2009. Sequel to her contribution, her pharmacy was accredited as a competent pharmacy by Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society, accredited as a diabetic care center by the Ministry of Health, CSCSP (accredited by Malaysian academy of Pharmacy, Weight Management consultant, key note speaker during forums, chairperson and event emcee for numerous conferences and conventions.
Trainer Bharati has served as a member of the pharmacy board overlooking and implementing strategies for the profession at large, immediate past Chairman of MPS at state level, a member representative from Malaysia for FAPA (Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations comprising over 10 countries) .She is currently the Vice President of Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society at the national level. She is certified nutritionists in complimentary medicine (cMED), certified speaker for weight management (My Weight My Health).
Trainer Bharati has always had a passion to improve the quality of life through prevention and life style changes. With the rise of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity, she compiled data over the years of her practice to identify the reasons behind the rise in these health related issues. Her findings revealed that the major contributing factor was due to stress at work. Her statistics revealed that 7 out of 10 of her clients were either stressed or not happy at work and their superiors. Most of them acquired High blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and depression after joining a company that had high expectations from their employee or failed to obtain the required skills for their job. Looking at this, she decided to reach out to more people by providing trainings to understand their concerns and extend her services at the corporate level.
Trainer Bharati is a certified trainer with PSMB and her 20 years of experience as a community pharmacist enables her to assist her clients to focus on corporate wellness such as understanding stress, to recognize the symptoms of stress and to be able to cope stress better to avoid diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Trainer Bharati provides onsite blood pressure and blood glucose test upon request, counseling on medication and supplements coupled with medical report review. Her workshop which encompasses mindfulness and laughter yoga proves to reduce at least 10 – 15 % of the participant’s blood pressure by the end of the day. Her vision is to see a healthier and happier workforce in the corporate world.
Her dreams inspired her to establish Global Edge Consultancy to which she serves as the Managing Director. Apart from stress management, she provides and equips her clients with skills required by the company to remain competent and productive. Among others, she conducts leadership, motivational, business and personal growth coaching and trainings. She has successfully provided trainings for Osram, Knowles, STEC, Intel, Y.S.P Industries, Peritone Health, Caring Pharmacy, KPJ Hospital and many other institutions including NGOs.
