INTRODUCTION

Nic started his career as an IT Tutor at School of Marketing in Ipoh for 4 years before becoming a Corporate Trainer for Informatics Institute. Thereafter, he managed the IT Department for a local garment manufacturing company handling application development and user training, while being groomed to be an Internal ISO 9002 Auditor for the company. He then joined a French pharmaceutical company based in Kuala Lumpur as IT Administrator in 1998, overseeing the Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Myanmar offices for 16 years, providing training for employees across various IT related subjects.

His experiences and willingness to share his knowledge was acknowledged by the Lions Clubs International District 308 B2, whereby he became a District Trainer in 2006. In 2012, he was appointed as Director of Photography for Virtigo Studio, specialising in creative photography and videography while continuing to provide training for corporate clients.

 In May 2016, Nic set up his own sole proprietorship, NIX Studio, to further his passion in photography and videography. Nic’s work is all about creating amazing memories: images that make a lasting impact. His skill with the camera earned him the Silver Award at the WPPI Annual 16×20 Print Competition (In-Camera Artistry Category) for 2 consecutive years in 2016 and 2017. He also won the Excellence Award in Creative Portrait in Asia Wedding Photographers Association’s 2017 Second Half Competition.

With more than 23 years of experience in training locally and internationally including Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Myanmar, his programmes have impacted more than 10,000 youths and adults ranging from college students to management and as well as SME owners. His clients include schoolteachers, Lions Clubs, NTT, DHL, Food Panda, Panasonic, TNB, Animonsta, Danone, PaperOne, and etc. In January 2020, he was invited to be a Photography Coach for an international school in Kuala Lumpur with the tasks of establishing a curriculum, syllabus, and activity calendar for the school’s Photography Club.
