INTRODUCTION

Dr. Mirza has more than 25 years of manufacturing, quality, project and consultancy experience, which he gained through serving a multi-national organization under the capacity as a Manager II (Seagate), Senior Manager II (Finisar Corp), Operations Manager (Moduslink) in the areas of production, planning, SCM, lean manufacturing, innovation, manufacturing excellence (QCC) and Six Sigma.
His wide exposure in the manufacturing industry has equipped him with knowledge in Lean management, TQM, and project management and most importantly hands on experience in implementing these practices. On top of that, he has vast experience in conducting many public and In-house programs. His background in administration, manufacturing, planning & material control, quality, project management and managerial skills has widened his knowledge and horizon, which adds value to his training programs.
Organizations find him to be a top calibre production and operations personnel while his participants find the learning process throughout his training and coaching to be fun. His areas of expertise are in Lean Manufacturing, QCC, Cost Reduction, Waste Elimination, Six Sigma, Positive Mind And Attitude, Green Management, Green Innovation And Production Management, Production Management, Productivity Improvement, Personal Development, Change Management, Leadership, Supervisory Skill, TQM, Managerial And Supervisory Development Program, HRM, Planning, and Logistics. He is also an expert in quality related modules such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, TPM, Problem Solving (PDCA / DMAIC / A3 / 8D - methods), Poke-Yoke, Lean training programs and the tools.
He is a pioneer member of the Lean manufacturing team and a qualified Six Sigma Black Belt, having been trained by Ernst & Young Consultants and the Institute of Six Sigma in Singapore. During his service in the multi-national organization, he completed 32 major cost saving projects on operations improvements and quality, which amounted to USD$ 4.91 million in saving. He was also the Lean-Sigma project coordinator for Perai Seagate Storage Products, Finisar (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Moduslink (M) Sdn. Bhd.
He is also the pioneer member to start off Intel Operations in Penang Moduslink and helped to fabricate the new boxing line from Penang to be set-up in Waigaoqiao, China. He was responsible to run the drive operations and other related business for Jabil, Cisco and Flextronics in Moduslink. He has also conducted training and seminars for the Malaysian Productivity Center (MPC) on Lean. He presented a paper on “Lean Implementation and deployment in private sector versus government sector” at an international conference. He is also involved in the ISO 9001 and ISO14000 implementation team for his organization.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) program from University Sains Malaysia; Degree in management (majoring in Accounts and Finance); Diploma in Manufacturing from UK, Certificate in Factory Management from Japan and holds the Train-The-Trainer certificate from PSMB, Malaysia.
He has chosen green innovation as the topic of study to complete his doctorate requirement. The study was on the Barriers of Green Innovation initiatives adoption, Outcomes (Green Environmental and Green Image) and green Competitive Advantage among Manufacturing Companies in Malaysia. The objective of the research is to study the barriers and outcomes of green innovation (green product, green process, green management) adoption towards achieving competitive advantage among manufacturing companies in Malaysia.
