INTRODUCTION

Jeremiah is our Partner who heads the Corporate Commercial and Banking & Finance practice groups of Messrs. Koh Dipendra Jeremiah Law (KDJLaw).

Jeremiah comes with a wealth of experience having worked in the corporate sector since 1997 prior to entering active legal practice. Prior to being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor, he was attached with a leading financial institution in Malaysia.

Jeremiah commenced his legal career in 1999 and was part of the banking, real estate, corporate and commercial practice group of a large Kuala Lumpur based law firm. Over the years, Jeremiah has acted for a wide range of clients from various industries and has extensive experience in corporate banking, project financing, real estate and property transactions, corporate and commercial matters, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, privacy and personal data protection and employment law.

Jeremiah is regularly invited to presents papers and conducts workshops for the corporate sector on a variety of topics, such as on Joint Ventures, International Commercial Contracts, Service Level Agreements, Director’s Duties, Employment Disputes, Banking & Security Documentation, Personal Data Protection, Company Law and other law topics and new legislation from time to time.

Jeremiah is a sought-after speaker and has presented papers and conducted seminars both locally and overseas such as in Singapore, Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India. He is a frequent speaker for regional and local organizations as well as professional bodies such as the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, Bar Council and State Bars.

He is also a guest lecturer at Universities and private colleges and also frequently speaks for the Malaysian Bar and the State Bars. Jeremiah is also a contributor and marker for professional qualification examinations in Malaysia and for the LLM Masters programme for the Malaysian professional practice for an Australia and New Zealand based Law College.

SIGNATURE PROGRAM

Jeremiah was a Council member of the Malaysian Bar, having served on the Bar Council for 2 terms i.e 2015/ 2016 and 2016/2017 and is the current Deputy Chairman of Personal Data Protection Sub-Committee and the Co-Chairman of the Corporate & Commercial Law Committee of the Bar Council.

He was the elected Honorary Secretary of the State Bar of Kuala Lumpur for the period 2013 to 2015 and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Representative to the Malaysian Bar Council for the period 2015 to 2017. He also serves on several committees at the Bar Council.

Jeremiah was an elected committee member of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee for 8 years for the period 2009 to 2017.
