INTRODUCTION

Muniandy a/l Supramaniam or popularly known as Ramanuja Muniandy is a Registered Medical Assistant with the Ministry of Health and has been conducting training since 1970. He has also taught the St. John Ambulance of Malaysia and is currently the Training Director for the Selangor Branch of the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, Master Trainer for National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and Training Advisor for Malaysian Occupational Health Nurses Association (MOHNA).

He holds Certificate of Achievement Malaysian Trauma Society; Certificate of Achievement – First Responder Level III (Vancouver, Canada) and Certificate in raining Development – Specialist Management Resources, United Kingdom. He started his career with Universiti Tenaga Nasional in 1978 and remained with them for 23 years before switching to Malaysian Red Crescent Selangor where he currently trains volunteers and corporate clients.  He also prepares modules, conducts Train The trainer programmes, chairs monthly training committee meetings and streamlines training activities for Selangor state.  Having more than 30 years of experience in trainings, he understands and envisages the need of imparting and training the right elements of syllabus to participants; therefore his trainings are adept with the most easy to learn system, easy, fun filled, realistic and practical in line with the adult training needs.

He has authored two books; namely CPR & First Aid For Members Of Public and CPR & First Aid For Volunteers.  He believes in low stress and confidence builds methodology in training adults.  He abolished the Pass / Fail methods and introduced Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory method in assessing and evaluation. Some of the courses that he handles are CPR and Occupational First Aid, Basic Life Support (CPR), Basic First Aid, Occupational Trauma Management, Advance First Aid, Emergency Response Team Training and Healthy Life Style Program.

Many organizations have benefited from his expertise such as Astro Measat Broadcasting Services, Suncon Construction Bhd, Yeos Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Monorail Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Toshiba Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Southern Wire Industries Sdn Bhd, ISS Hygiene Services, IRIS Technologists, Cruise Tasik Putra Jaya, Tenaga Nasional Bhd, Tenaga Cable Industries and many more.

He is also the Chairman of National CPR Methodology Committee for National Training Committee Malaysia Red Crescent and is in the pioneer group that designed the teaching module for The National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health where he is the Facilitator for the present Occupational First Aid course.
