INTRODUCTION

Umar is qualified professional coach and facilitator offering more than 15 years of experience in Malaysian industry; comprising both management and technical. Being a result-focused and effectual leader, he has proved his ability to manage a diverse team in meeting aggressive revenue target while delivering exceptional customer service. He is also a talented change-agent capable of steering organizations towards achieving its full potential by streamlining processes and empowering team-members.

Umar comes with an MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia while his earlier training was in engineering. He started his career in the automotive sector where he worked himself up from a technician to a position of a dealer principal for a Volvo dealership. Here he led his team to increase the profitability and performance of the dealership. The customer satisfaction scores were consistently the best in the group. His most notable achievement is setting up a BMW dealership in accordance of the German marque’s strict global standard.

Anyone who is familiar with Umar will tell you that learning and development is not just another job for him – it’s his passion. Through his experience dealing with people from all strata of human demographics, Umar understands that people behave and reacts out of their emotions and personal values. Thus; normal skills training would not yield desirable outcome if the underlying factors are not addressed. In view of this, his training methodology focused on creating an experiential learning sessions that would allow participants to reflect onto themselves, make their own conclusion and initiate personal action for change.

This HRDC accredited facilitator and TRIZ Level 1 practitioner packs his learning sessions with rich results-oriented contents, engaging activities and his hallmark –  fun-filled experiential learning. He is known for communicating with a zest and energy that is highly contagious. He also relates to his audience well, by using current and relevant examples which they can relate to. The effects are just marvelous with more confident individuals, better working relationships at workplace, leaders who are authentic in managing the organization and better well rounded individuals.

Harnessing his experience in the corporate Malaysia, Umar now facilitates a vast array of learning sessions in the areas of Personal Development, Supervisory & Leadership, Personalities & Communication, Values & Organizational Behaviours, Team Alignment, Habits of Effective People and numerous variety of team building session. Apart of that, he also coaches upcoming entrepreneurs in the IT field to set-up and develops their business and provides his services to GLSs’ in setting up their in-house Performance Management System.
