Course Objectives

• What are the finance terms/jargons and what do they mean? Various financial terminologies that affects various personnel & enable them to communicate with financial people.
• Analysing and Interpreting the Financial Reports (Financial Statements). Profit and Loss/ (Income Statement), Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement by performing ‘ratio analysis’ – Understanding, Interpreting and making sense of internal reports too.
• Importance of Cash flow projections in businesses
• Understanding financial impact of various business scenarios.
• Break-even analysis and Cost Volume Profit (CVP) Analysis -the importance of the analysis. Using this knowledge leads to understanding various targets are drawn by top management.
• Use of This CVP analysis in pricing decisions.
• Budgeting for various Departments: How to approach it practically and how to do proper Budget.
• Project Evaluations using ROI (including Investments and Ventures), and Payback and concept of Time Value of Money.

Methodology

The highly interactive training method used is designed to assist participants to grasp the fundamentals and understanding of Finance concepts in the practical sense and applying it in a short time. The approach adopted induces maximum retention of what is learnt. A combination of workgroup discussions using real scenarios from your organisation, simple exercises, open discussion, corporate videos, slides, real corporate case studies and interactive participation would be structured into the workshop to enable participants to learn effectively and practically.

A Pre & Post workshop Evaluation test would be done to gauge the effectiveness of the workshop and a report prepared henceforth.
