Course Objectives

KNOWLEDGE

• Having broad understanding of Managing Facility Fire Safety and Fire Protection System.
• Understand the purpose and objectives of Fire Safety & Fire Protection System.
• Understand the principles of fire safety or Fire Science, including chemistry of fire, how explosion occur in the building, products of combustion & its effect on life safety, human behavior in fire and concept of means of escape during fire emergency.
• Understand the concept of Fire Risk Management in term of identification, analysis and cost effective control of fire risks which can threaten the assets or cause interruptions to the operation of an organization.
• Understand both passive and active Fire Protection System installed, their function and maintenance requirement.
• Identify fire hazards, causes of fires and safeguards required to prevent fires.
• Understand the procedures for reporting fires, fighting fires and evacuating work areas.
• Evaluate the likely success of Fire Safety & Fire Protection System in relation to day to day work activities, operation and workplace environment.

  SKILLS

• Be able to conduct on-site fire safety inspections using inspection checklists to ensure that work areas remain in a fire-safe condition.
• Be able to do survey and obtain all relevant and accurate information with regards to fire safety.
• Correctly interpret fire safety and their impact on the organization.
• Be able to determine appropriate strategies taken during fire incident efficiently and effectively.
