Certification these days play a huge role in determining the perfect candidate for the job. Without a doubt, candidates who possess a certification would have a higher chances at being selected for the role. However, this does not mean that non-certified professionals would not stand a chance.

Shortlisting candidates is not just about looking at candidate’s certification possession but also HR personnel would need to look at years of experience, education background, past employment details, achievements and more. So, with all these factors put together, adding a professional certification into your resume means, helping you to stand out among all other applicants.

The differences that could be seen are:

#1 – Proper Career Guidance
Have you ever question yourself if this career path is the right one, is there anything you could do differently and other thoughts about your job? Well, the answers to all your doubts about the role you are in right now can be elaborated in details by qualified teachers to give you a clearer vision to the path you will eventually go through. Certified professionals will be able to clear their doubts by getting guidance they need from their teachers while non-certified professionals would have to think it through themselves.

#2 – Level of Confidence
For certified professionals, they will appear more confident in job interviews, presentations and more. This is because their skills are well trained and polished which gives them no room to doubt their ability in solving a problem. As for non-certified professionals, every skills they had in hand is either through on-ground training or self-taught skills. Eventually, experience will be the reason behind their confidence.

#3 – In-depth Tools Knowledge
Having the ability to use the tools in a way that it is efficient and cost-effective to complete a task is a plus point and can only be done by certified professionals. Moreover, certified professionals are able to determine the right tools for the problem that occurred almost immediately, while non-certified professionals would require some time to do so. That also depends if they have an experience in solving the problem, otherwise they would need more time to solve it.

In conclusion, getting certified is a form of boosting your career from start, making you reach closer to your goal in a shorter amount of time as well as being in the top of the list when searching for a new job. All-in-all, choosing to get certified or not would be solely up to you, though it will be recommended.
