INTRODUCTION

Chan Tein Kee is a registered competent Safety And Health Officer (Registration No.: JKKP IS 127/438/2/228) with Department of Occupational Safety And Health (DOSH) since 1998.  He holds a Professional Certificate as Safety & Health Officer from National Institute Of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) where he is a NIOSH member since 2005; a member of Technical Committee on Ergonomics; Auditor for MSOSH Annual OSH Awards and a member of Prime Minister Hibiscus Award Technical Committee since 2008.

He is an active member of the Federation Of Malaysian Manufacturers Selangor Branch Working Committee on Industrial Safety, Health and Environment.  As a member for Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety And Health (MSOSH), he has contributed to the success of the annual MSOSH OSH Awards as a Lead Auditor.  As a practitioner for Occupational Safety and Health for the past 18 years, he has developed basic Emergency Response Plan for many small and medium scale industries in Selangor.  He was also the main resource person in developing the Emergency Response Plan for Chemquest Ancom Terminal at Westport, Port Klang which is a major hazard installation facility.

During his career stage, he has achieved many achievements; some of which were Upgrading to MS ISO 9001:2008 Management System; Certification to MS ISO 9002:1994; implementation of Occupational Safety & Health Management System and many more.   He has conducted numerous trainings, especially “Safe Handling Of Chemicals”; in-house trainings and contributed ideas to improve their OSH Management Systems.  His specialization lie on development & documentation of manuals and document & data control   for ISO 9000 Quality Management System and OHSAS 18001 Management System; managing and lead auditing for ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems; Statistical Process Control; development and documentation for Emergency Response Plan; Process Flow Diagrams & Evacuation Plans For Emergency Response Plan; Accident / Incident Investigation; Analysis & Reporting; Workplace Hazards Identifications, Risk Assessment & Control and Managing Workplace Inspection and OSH Audits.

He has attended special trainings to further excel himself in knowledge and experience with courses such as Project Team Training For Start-Up Of A Spray Drying Unit specifically for Safety, Health & Environmental aspects; ISO 14000 Understanding and Implementing An Environmental Management System Workshop; Workplace Hazards Identifications, Risk Assessment and Control; Accident Prevention & Investigation; Safety & Health Officer Course; Environmental Management System Establishment and Internal Audit for ISO 14001; Industrial Solid Waste Treatment & Recycling and etc.
