INTRODUCTION

Chan Wang Tak has in total more than 30 years’ experience in Human Resource Management and consultancy.  He is an experienced course facilitator, having conducted training for banks, commercial organizations, factories, GLCs both in management and specialized human resource management programs.  In consultancy, he has serviced multinationals from USA, Japan and Korea as well local conglomerates. He has served as a Panel Member of the Industrial Court of Malaysia, is presently an elected Councillor of the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management, and one of its senior consultants.

He served as HR Manager of  Carter Semiconductor Sdn. Bhd. for  from 1973-1983, as HR Manager at Super Kinta Departmental Store (M) Sdn. Bhd. until 1989 and as Group HR Manager of  11 subsidiaries and sister companies, serving until 1993.  Between 1989 to 1994, he was appointed as an employer’s representative to the Industrial Court panel.

Between 1994 -1995, he served as a Compensations Consultant with Management Information Services Sdn. Bhd., performing analysis of compensation data, job evaluation, job grading, and constructing salary systems, and designing performance appraisal systems in assignments for multinational companies.   Following that between 1995 – 2001, he took up partnership in JBN Associates Sdn Bhd. and launched into training consultancy, setting up training systems and curriculums for multinationals that seek to develop their human capital.  He also conducts various people management, leadership and management skills programs at the supervisory, executive and managerial levels.  In 2001, Chan Wang Tak went on to set up Sow & Harvest Consulting which continues to serve a select and satisfied client base.  Wang Tak also conducts training in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and occasionally in Chinese languages.  He is an elected council member of the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management
