Trainer Lam is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Professional Trainer and a Certified Behavioral Consultant with over 20 years’ experience in top level management positions working with diversified companies based in Singapore and Malaysia. He received his early training as an auditor with Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouse Coopers).
Trainer Lam has both deep and wide experience in various industry segments and also cross-cultural exposure working with colleagues and business partners in the United Kingdom, Australia, Hong Kong & Indonesia. He strongly believes the cornerstones of success and that of a great leader are Courage, Humility and Integrity or what he calls “Leadership Chi” – a valuesbased leadership approach. His forte is in leadership and management development training and his core programmes are “Effective Leadership & Management”, “Transforming Managers to Leaders”, “The Harvard Executive Series”, “The Bullet-proof Manager” and “Strategic Leadership” working in association with various training institutions whose clientele include multi-national companies such as Honeywell, DHL, Huntsman, Citibank, Novotel, Bank Negara Malaysia, Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA), Sime Darby, Genting, Walton International Properties and Maxis.
Trainer Lam also runs simplified technical workshops such as “Finance for Non-finance Managers” and “Fraud – Prevention & Detection”. He is also actively sought as an adjunct lecturer with private institutions of higher learning in the areas of Human Resources Management, Innovation & Enterprise, Employability Skills and Business Finance. In his earlier career, he trained Auditing Skills to staff from the Malaysian Auditor-General’s office and Malaysian Inland Revenue Board.
He is also a Business Advisory Partner with the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) SPRING Singapore and provides his services to SMEs seeking expertise assistance through Government-aided programs. He is also an Assessor for the Singapore Polytechnic’s New Business Venture Projects undertaken by final year students from their School of Business. Prior to establishing himself as a full-time trainer, he was Group CEO of a SGX-listed company. He also previously worked as Senior GM for Control & Development with a group listed on the KLSE and served as a Director of the group’s London AIM-listed UK subsidiary and also of several other subsidiaries in Australia.
