Methodology

  • The methodology allows 100% participation from all participants involved.
  • The bricks serve as the medium and opinions can be express in a neutral manner instead of feelinglike a personal attack during the process of finding out the challenges in the past. It will allow participants to express freely without feeling obligated to comply to “what should be said”.
  • Small group involved will allow participants to gain a higher level of trust among each other, further understanding, and allow commitments towards each other, team and organisation. The participants build metaphorical models, which hold complex information that is communicated through the process of story-telling. Through this process, even those who are not skilled in constructing can be empowered to express themselves creatively. Hence, complex challenges are discussed in an engaging manner and ideas and scenarios are expressed through the shared language of metaphors.
  • In LEGOÒ Serious PlayÒ method, the LEGO bricks serve as common language that anyone can use, regardless of their education, position or culture. This ensures everybody’s knowledge and insights are surfaced.
  • The starting focuses of LEGOÒ Serious PlayÒ method in one each individual and not the group. This means that the structure of the process requires everyone to be actively involved in the decision and agreements after their meeting.
  • The LEGOÒ Serious PlayÒ method produces more concrete ideas and results, because everyone has time to build his or her answers and input before conversation and knowledge sharing begin.
  • The LEGOÒ Serious PlayÒ method ensures faster and better metaphors and stories. This also leads to fewer misunderstanding
  • The LEGOÒ Serious PlayÒ method meetings/workshops stay on topic because the focus is on the bricks – not on the individual. This also allows the discussion to become very intense without creating personal conflicts.
