INTRODUCTION

TAN holds a Bachelor of Science (majoring in Computer Science & Management Information Systems) from Massey University, New Zealand and a NZIM Certificate in Supervisory Management (NZ) as well as a Certificate in Business Computing (NZ). He is a certified Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (Human Resource Ministry Malaysia) trainer.

He is a goal-directed, versatile, results-oriented professional with over 10 years of experience in the manufacturing industry. A team player with polished communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal, presentations and rapport building, he is self-motivated with high energy, initiative, and focus.

He has keen insight into the needs and views of others, able to listen and identify issues or problem areas and form innovative solutions. Areas of strength include problem solving, creative / flexible / adaptable, communication / negotiation / facilitation, presentation / training, self-development / relationship building, documentation / writing, community relation, and project management/assessment.

Over years of working in the manufacturing industry, he had managed to acquire a wealth of knowledge and experience in related fields needed today.  He has extensive people management skills and training and this abilities demonstrates his benefit to individuals and organizations. He has built n his knowledge of professional development in meeting current market demand, extensive experience in cultural change providing career advice, coaching, mentoring and leadership in continuing to be a pioneer and benchmark for the company and its clients to date.

He uses his good leadership skills to mobilize others to contribute effectively and on a timely basis, through the application of both tact and persistence.

He had greatly contributed to the achievement of  the  Quality Management Standards ISO 9001:2000 of the company he was employed; maintaining its continuity and sustainability to meet the competitive market challenges. He also served as the safety & health committee secretary and enforced the application of 5S towards better quality management in the company.

Presently, he is a volunteer of the PKSNPP Persatuan Keselamatan Sukarela Negeri Pulau Pinang (NGO) where he is involved in the organizing, planning and arranging of the “Kempen Cegah Jenayah” with PDRM, St. John, Red Crescent, RELA and other voluntary squads. This event successfully attracts over 5,000 spectators. He also manages to work with certain charity events in the effort to continuously give back to those who need. He was the previous appointed secretary/treasurer of PKSNPP.

He believes in continuous learning and in pursuing new knowledge to enrich himself and to share it among his fellow associates, colleagues and friends; he has successfully demonstrated his capabilities and passion in encouraging people to believe in themselves, changing their mindset to think out of the box, to face their fear of change and move out from the comfort zone in order to reach higher level of performance. He is eager and motivated to constantly inspired people and to share these life elements with the people he reaches out to. He strongly believes the best way to learn and acquire knowledge is through sharing of experiences and applying the right attitude, discipline and methods.
