INTRODUCTION
Graduated with honors in Computer Science and Masters in Design & Digital Media in UK, Gerald worked for the government in UK for 3 years before making the decision to return to Malaysia to manage the IT company he started years ago.
THE IT YEARS With his active involvement, his company grew from six figures turnover to eight over the next few years. Leading a team of 60 plus programmers, the company took on exclusive government projects earning them MSC and Bio-Nexus status and was given more than 12 Million in government grant. His company diversified from desktop publishing to open source technologies and further expanded to bio-technology with the collaboration of local and Taiwan universities. It was during this time, he was asked to share his success on a regular basis with other students in local universities and to other entrepreneurs around the world.
FROM SHARING TO TRAINING With the frequent sharing and engagement that Gerald was doing, he incorporated The Referral Academy in Singapore and Young Entrepreneur Society (YES) in Singapore and eventually in Malaysia. He led a group of entrepreneurs and business owners through his entrepreneur’s development programme and his participants includes CEOs and Directors from different companies and corporate. With his effectiveness and enthusiasm in sharing his knowledge, Gerald was constantly encouraged by his own participants to train their staff and colleagues. In 2010, Gerald took on the role to train different levels of an organization and it wasn’t long before his efforts were noticed by the Ministry of Human Resource of Malaysia (MoHR). He was appointed as their panel trainer with the role of training and certifying other trainers and lecturers in Malaysia. Gerald is also best-selling author of the books “Pretty Lies Ugly Truth” and “Ugly Lies Ugly Truth” in which he shares about unethical techniques used by industry players and the different crucial property investment strategies.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING With his experience as a successful entrepreneur, Gerald has the advantage of sharing the practical know how instead of theories. Also, through his deep enthusiasm in adult learning, he has also successfully demonstrated his capability and passion in developing and delivering various soft skills trainings, through his state-of-the-art experiential learning approach to embed learners to ‘SEE’ and ‘THINK’ in various perspectives, while ‘LISTEN’ to diverse thoughts, in order to establish the ‘FEEL’ to adopt and put learning into practice. Now, Gerald’s area of expertise within the soft skills training include Managerial and Executive Development, Sales & Marketing, Situational Leadership and Team Building, Inner Self Discovery, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Supervisory Competency, Interpersonal Communication and Effective Influencing Skills to name a few.
